ASN YOUNG INVESTIGATOR
TRAVEL GRANTS
The American Society for Neurochemistry is pleased to announce the availability of $500 travel grants for young investigators to attend the ASN 37th Annual Meeting, Portland, Oregon.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate students in their final year of study or scientists who received a Ph.D. or M.D. within the past 6 years.
- Applicants must reside in the Western Hemisphere, but need not be members of the ASN.
- Applicants must be first (presenting) author of a submitted abstract.
- Applicants must not have received a Young Investigator Education Enhancement (YIEE) Award from the ASN previously.
- The number of applicants from any one laboratory is limited to two.
APPLICATION MATERIALS TO BE SUBMITTED:
(Note: Five copies of each must be provided)
- A cover letter containing:
- A brief statement of career goals.
- Name of dissertation supervisor or research director
- A statement as to whether or not you have received an ASN YIEE (travel) Award previously.
- An explanation of your need for a travel grant to attend the meeting and current source of graduate school or postdoctoral financial support.
- A brief curriculum vitae or biographical sketch including, at a minimum, origin and date of award of undergraduate and graduate degrees, and a list of publications and/or title of dissertation.
- Text of submitted abstract to ASN 37th Annual Meeting, Portland, OR
- A letter from your supervisor or research director confirming the need for a travel grant. In the case of graduate students, the letter should also indicate that the applicant is expected to complete all requirements for the doctoral degree within one year
