AT&T Small Business Hosting Services to Interland
Customer Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. I used to enable SSL Encryption on my website using the shared SSL encryption upgrade from AT&T, and that is no longer functioning properly?

We have created a shared certificate solution at Interland to meet your needs.

Here are the steps you will need to secure your site:

    • Replace all previous secure URLs from AT&T with

https://[fully qualified domain name without periods].registeredsite.com
    • For example, if an account’s name were interlandtest.com, the correct URL to access their site securely would be:

      https://interlandtestcom.registeredsite.com

  2. I was using the Bolt On E-Commerce Feature at AT&T (or e-commerce Only Feature). Does Interland have a similar product?
Interland does not offer such a product, however we do offer a very robust e-commerce hosting product, the award winning MIVA Merchant Storefront solution. This combined with our world class hosting is a great value, to find out more information please contact us at dissenberg@interland.com.

  3. Why will Interland be providing my hosting services?
Effective January 24, 2002, AT&T entered into an agreement with Interland, Inc. through which Interland acquired AT&T Small Business Hosting Services.

Interland wants to assure customers that it understands the unique hosting needs of small businesses. Recognized for its integration expertise, Interland intends to rapidly integrate AT&T Small Business Hosting Services customers into its existing operations.

AT&T is refocusing its hosting business portfolio of services. In the Web hosting market, AT&T's strength will focus on its core competence – delivering the complex, managed hosting services required to support businesses' mission-critical applications. The sale of AT&T Small Business Hosting Services in no way diminishes AT&T's strong commitment to serving its small to medium-sized business customers in other market segments.

  4. AT&T offered a feature with the Small Business Hosting Service called MyPage for Business, which allowed me to create and edit web site content. My current hosting plan does not have this functionality and I need it.
Your site will still be able to serve your Web pages as it did before. However, Interland does not offer a page creation and editing feature standard with its hosting products. We do offer a solution called EzSiteBuilder which has the same functionality as the MyPage solution, and this product is available to you at no additional charge. Upgrading to this functionality will require you to migrate to a new hosting account and IP address. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and appreciate your patience. If you are interested in upgrading to this functionality, please contact our Sales Team at 800-627-6839 or sales@interland.com to complete the purchase.

You will be responsible for the upload of your content to this new package. For more information on how to move your site go to support.interland.com and reference the FAQ's on FTP, and How to publish a Web Site.

  5. I understand that Interland has acquired AT&T Small Business Hosting Services. Tell me a little more about Interland.
Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Interland, Inc. is a leading provider of business-class Web hosting solutions for small and medium businesses, offering a broad portfolio of standardized Web hosting, e-commerce and application hosting services, from basic Web sites to managed dedicated hosting solutions. The company manages more than 300,000 paid hosted Web sites.

  6. Will my AT&T Small Business Hosting Services account be transferred to Interland?
Yes. Your AT&T Small Business Hosting account will be transferred to Interland by March 1, 2002. Interland will be in contact with you shortly via email with more details on the transition.

  7. Will I experience any service interruption during this transition?
AT&T and Interland will work closely with you to help facilitate what Interland expects to be a seamless transition for your hosting services and e-business applications. There will be an initial content freeze to all customers' Web sites, which will take place at midnight, Sunday January 27th and end on midnight, Tuesday January 29th. At that time, you will not be able to make any changes to your site content, but your Web site will still be reachable to Internet visitors. CGI scripts, such as counters or guest books, will also not be operational during this time, but will return to normal functioning on Tuesday January 29th. Customers who have purchased AT&T e-commerce features with their hosting plan will still be able to update the product catalog and take orders as usual.

Please note that any changes made to your Web site after Sunday January 27th will not be captured and will not be automatically transferred to Interland when your site is migrated to their servers. Please keep a record of any changes you make to your Web site after (Wednesday, 1/30) so that you can update your content. Thank you for your patience during this transition period.

After this initial content freeze, you'll be hearing from Interland shortly by email with more details on the transition itself. Interland anticipates there will be no other service disruption to your Web site.

  8. I would like to move my AT&T Small Business Hosting account over to Interland now. Can I purchase a new plan from Interland and get a credit back from AT&T?
No. Your AT&T Small Business Hosting account will be transferred to Interland by March 1, 2002. Once your site has been transitioned to Interland's system, you have the option to upgrade or change to any of Interland's hosting plans. Your patience is appreciated during this period of transition.

  9. I am a hosting only customer (without e-commerce). Will I have a new plan at Interland?
Interland does not anticipate any changes to the features and functionality available in your current plan. As always, customers will be informed well in advance of potential changes to their plans.

  10. I am a hosting customer with e-commerce functionality. Will I have a new plan at Interland?
Yes, you will be transitioned to the Interland standard e-commerce service, Miva by Interland. For AT&T Small Business Hosting Services customers using e-commerce, there will be some changes to the features and functionality available in your current plan, mostly in the form of additional functionality. As always, customers will be informed well in advance of changes to their plans.

  11. How does the transition to Interland occur?
During a scheduled Interland maintenance window, all of the files that make up your Web site will be mirrored to an Interland server. After the migration, an Interland team of Web site specialists will review your site for any errors and ensure that it functions properly. You will be notified via email to review your Web site and provide an accept or decline status to Interland. Once you have approved your site, it will be activated. Detailed instructions and information regarding this transition will follow.

  12. Will my URL and IP Address remain the same?
Your domain name URL will remain the same. Your IP Address will change; however, this change will be transparent to you and will occur behind the scenes as part of the migration to Interland's service.

  13. Does Interland offer 24/7 support?
Yes. Interland is recognized for its award-winning 24/7 support.

  14. Who should I contact for billing questions?
Until you are notified otherwise, you should continue to contact AT&T billing support at 1-888-907-9283. More information on this will be made available to you in future communications from Interland.
