A short paper version will be included in the "Neurochemistry News" published by the ISN. A more complete version will be published online. Click here for the list. 6 YOUNG LATIN AMERICAN SCHOLARS The American Society for Neurochemistry provides scholarships for young neuroscientists from Latin American countries. These awards provide $2,000 in travel expenses to attend the 35th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Neurochemistry in New York City, along with the visit, for a period not shorter than one additional week, to an established neuroscience laboratory in North America. The ASN hopes that these awards will foster mentoring relationships, to teach young scientists new techniques, and to share and encourage new ideas and approaches to neurochemical problems. Samson, Jr., a charter member of the ASN, died at his home on Lake Quivira, Kansas, on April 15, 2004, at the age of 85. more >>> Martin Larrabee Bylaw Amendments Passed Amendments to the ASN bylaws to create the positions of Treasure-Elect and Secretary-Elect were passed by the membership on April 8, 2004. Of the 166 valid ballots that were cast, 162 approved the amendment to create the position of Treasure-Elect and 162 approved the amendment to create the position of Secretary-Elect. Thank you for casting your vote. New Committee Rosters Call for Session Proposals The program committee for the 36th annual meeting of the American Society for Neurochemistry invites submissions for symposia, colloquia, and workshops to be considered for inclusion in the meeting schedule.
