The lab is actively investigating therapeutic agents that have immunomodulatory and remyelinating properties to induce recovery and repair. Post-doctoral scholar positions are immediately present for two funded projects

i) investigate Purkinje cell mitochondria dysfunction in demyelinating cerebellum (neuroscience and/ immunology or electrophysiology background)

ii) investigate the initiation of seizure and involvement of inhibitory neurons and astrocyte gap junctions in chronically demyelinated mouse model of multiple sclerosis (required brain slice electrophysiology background).

For additional information about ongoing and reference research, please reach out to Dr. Tiwari- Woodruff, seema.tiwari-woodruff@medsch.ucr.edu

Tiwari-Woodruff lab use animal models, immunology, electrophysiology, molecular biology, and biochemistry approaches. Candidates should have strong neuroscience, neuroimmunology or electrophysiology experience. Candidates should have a doctoral degree in neuroscience, immunology, biochemistry, physiology, or related field. We welcome and strongly support scientists with diverse backgrounds who are energetic and highly motivated for career advancement in academia or industry.
