RULES CHANGE: Water leak detection devices

2026-01-13 4:40 PM | Watermark Board (Administrator)

The Watermark and Watermark owners have spent thousands of dollars and countless frustrating hours and days dealing with water damage that starts in one unit and spreads to several others.

This new rule was approved by the Board at their meeting on January 12, 2026 and is effective immediately:

All unit owners must install and maintain in good working order water leak detection devices under all sinks, near water heaters, washing machines, dishwashers, heat pumps, and other locations where plumbing leaks could occur. Each device must have a loud, audible alarm and the capability to send remote notifications to the owner or designated contact electronically.

These systems can be purchased online (Amazon has several) for under $100 and could save you thousands of dollars. Thank you for your quick attention to this new rule.
